'Live in Athens', recorded two months after 'Live in Troy', sees Michaels Pierce and Potter going in the opposite direction. On a cool Fall evening in Athens, GA, opening for percussionist Tatsuya Nakatani, The Electric Nature performed a 33-minute long guitar duet of mostly controlled feedback. Rumbling bass tones and Blade Runner-esque shards of sound briefly overtake and then wash away from the restrained ambience the duo wring out of their instruments. A different approach altogether from the Troy show, but a sound that is unmistakably The Electric Nature.
